Delivering Fun, Safely, and Always with Heart

Dean Choma isn’t just about business—he’s about people. Whether it’s running adventure tours, hosting epic karting events, or mentoring other entrepreneurs, Dean’s number one priority has always been making sure everyone has a great time and feels taken care of.

He’s spent decades building businesses in tourism, entertainment, and hospitality, but what really sets him apart is his generosity, his big heart, and his ability to bring people together. People don’t just work with Dean because of what he does—they stick around because of who he is.

Deans Story

He’s spent decades building businesses in tourism, entertainment, and hospitality, but what really sets him apart is his generosity, his big heart, and his ability to bring people together. People don’t just work with Dean because of what he does—they stick around because of who he is.

From Machines to Memories

Dean’s career didn’t start in tourism—it started in manufacturing, working with high-speed packaging and precision machinery. But as much as he appreciated the technical side of things, he quickly realized he was more interested in people than machines.

So, in 1989, he hit the road on a tour of Australia’s pubs and clubs, diving headfirst into the world of entertainment and tourism. A few years later, in 1992, he launched The Outback Party (T.O.P. Tours), running 4×4 camping trips through Australia’s wild landscapes. By 1995, he was onto his next adventure—Pubtrek Adventures, a business that started with a single bus and quickly grew into a fleet of six, taking people on unforgettable pub and club tours.

Over the years, his businesses racked up multiple awards, including:

  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2001, Sydney Business Awards)
  • Best Tourism Business (2001, Sydney Industry Awards)
  • Business of the Year (2002, Western Sydney Industry Awards)
  • Tourism Business of the Year (2002, Liverpool Business Awards)

But if you ask Dean, it’s never been about the awards. It’s about creating experiences that people love and making sure everyone feels included, safe, and welcome.

The Man Behind the Businesses

Dean is the kind of guy who’s always looking for the next big thing—but not just for himself. He genuinely loves helping others succeed. In 2006, he expanded his tourism empire with City ClubHopper, a nightclub tour that worked directly with club owners. Then came Fastlane Karting, one of Sydney’s best go-karting venues, where he introduced programs that go beyond just racing:

  • “Safe Driving for Schools” – A real life hands-on approach to road safety awareness to help young drivers.
  • Junior Race League (JRL) – An educational 8week Motorsport pathway running weekly on Wednesday and Sundays.
  • RACKA the Recreational and Commercial Karting Association–  Instigator/board member along with other key hire karting operators around NSW.

Dean’s leadership in the Party Tour industry retained a perfect safety standard throughout the entire 30 years of operation with a completely unmarked insurance claim record. A truly unbelievable achievement in such a volatile risky industry. He often jokes about being the world’s best risk manager as he continues to deliver fun safely.

A Big Heart & A Helping Hand

Business aside, what really makes Dean stand out is his kindness and generosity. He’s the first to put his hand up when someone needs help and has always believed in giving back.
  • He created “Special Speeds for Special Needs,” an event where kids with disabilities get to experience the joy of karting in a safe and supportive space.
  • He started a GoFundMe campaign for a close friend in need, rallying his community to come together.
  • He constantly supports local charities, community projects, and business owners, whether through financial help, mentorship, or just being there when someone needs a boost.
Dean doesn’t just say he cares—he shows it, every single day. That’s why people trust him.

Life’s Curveballs & A New Perspective

In 2015, Dean’s world turned upside down. A freak accident and personal hardships forced him to slow down and take a hard look at what really mattered. That’s when he discovered meditation and mindfulness, eventually becoming a certified meditation teacher. It gave him a new way to help others find balance—not just in business, but in life.

Today, he continues to lead, mentor, and create through his businesses:

Austrek Tours

School charters and small niche tour packages.

The go-to spot for high-energy family fun and events.

A consulting platform helping entrepreneurs build stronger businesses from within themselves.

But more than anything, Dean is just a guy who loves what he does, loves people, and believes in making life fun—while always keeping safety in check.
His motto? “I Deliver Fun, Safely—and Always with Heart.” And if you know Dean, you know he truly means it.
